1. What is a personal appearance professional?
   A personal appearance professional is someone who performs services catered to the appearance of people (i.e. barbers, hair stylists, nail technicians, make-up artists, etc.).
   
   
2. If I own a barbershop or salon and I perform barbering and cosmetology services, can I display pictures of my work on my barbershop or salon profile?
   YES. However, the photos will not appear when users are searching for barbers, hair stylists, or manicurist/pedicurists. Your photos will appear on your 'Barbershop, Hair Salon, or Nail Salon' profile. You must create an additional 'Barber, Stylist, or Manicurist/Pedicurist' profile at no additional cost when signing-up to enable your pictures to appear in the listings when users are searching for barbers, hair stylists, or manicurist/pedicurists.
   
   
3. If I own a barbershop or salon and I perform barbering and cosmetology services, can I create a barber, stylist, or manicurist/pedicurist profile at no additional cost?
   Yes. This is a FREE feature that is offered to members that perform services and own a barbershop or salon. How? When you are signing-up, select 'YES' to the question, 'Do you perform services also?'. This will enable you to create an additional barber, stylist, or manicurist/pedicurist profile at no additional cost.
   
   
4. Can I claim my membership with BarberBeautician.com as an advertisement expense when I file my taxes?
   YES. However, since tax laws frequently change, we recommend for you to check with a tax professional to ensure your membership is or will be tax deductible. Print a copy of your receipt when joining for your records to serve as proof of membership. For most professions, memberships to our site are considered as a form of advertisement, which is tax deductible.
   
   
5. How do I post a job?
   Log into your account using your member name and password. Click on 'My Posted Jobs'. Select 'Post A Job' and enter the information for the job you want to post. Select 'Submit' and your job will be posted. Go to the 'JOBS' tab to view your posting. You can also post a job by selecting 'Post A Job' on the 'JOBS' tab.
   
   
6. Is there a limit to the amount of jobs I can post?
   NO. Job postings are FREE and unlimited for members.
   
   
7. How long do job postings remain on the 'JOBS' tab?
   Each posting will remain on the jobs tab for 30 days. At the end of the 30th day, the job posting will be removed from the site.
   
   
8. How do I edit a job I have posted on the 'JOBS' tab?
   Log into your account using your member name and password. Click on 'My Posted Jobs'. Select 'Edit' next to the job you want to edit. Edit the posting to your specifications and click 'Submit' to save your changes. Go to the 'JOBS' tab to view your posting.
   
   
9. How do I upload pictures of my work onto my profile?
   Log into your account using your member name and password. Click on 'My Pictures'. Select 'Add A New Picture'. Once the new screen opens, click on 'Browse' to select the picture you want to insert onto your profile. After clicking on 'Open', you can enter a number in the 'Priority' section to specify where you want the picture to appear on your profile. Text can also be entered in the 'Description' section to give details about the picture. Click 'Save' and your photo will be uploaded onto your profile.
   
   
10. How do I upload a picture of myself onto my profile?
    Log into your account using your member name and password. Click on 'My Profile Photo'. Select 'Browse' to select the picture you want to insert onto your profile. Click 'Save' and your photo will be uploaded onto your profile.
    
    
11. How can I edit my profile?
    Log into your account using your member name and password. Select 'Edit My Profile'. Scroll down to find the section you would like to modify and make your modifications. Select 'Save' and your changes will be saved.
    
    
12. What is the On-Line Hair Show?
    The On-Line Hair Show is a competition that enables barbers and stylists throughout the country to compete against each other for two $500.00 cash prizes and recognition as National Top Barber & National Top Stylist. The winners are chosen quarterly by users' votes. The barber and stylist with the most votes win. Winners are selected at 12:00a.m. Eastern Time on March 1st, June 1st, September 1^st, and December 1st of every year.
    
    
13. What is the purpose of the e-mail, facebook, myspace, and twitter icons located in the SHARE section in the upper right of the site?
    The SHARE section enables members and users to easily share the information on BarberBeautician.com with people they know. When users are viewing your profile, they can click on one of the icons in the SHARE section to send your profile to many people at once. Users will be able to advertise your work for you 24/7
    
    
14. How do I embed a YouTube video onto my profile?
    
    1. Log into your YouTube account at www.YouTube.com.
    2. Upload your video onto YouTube following their instructions.
    3. Copy the embed code of the video you want to display on your BarberBeautician.com profile.
    4. Login your BarberBeautician.com account.
    5. Click on 'My Video' and paste the embed code in the 'My Video' section.
    6. Click 'Save My Video' and your video will be saved to your profile.
    
    
    
15. How do I post items I have for sale?
    
    1. Log into your account using your member name and password.
    2. Select 'My Items For Sale'.
    3. Click on 'Post An Item For Sale'.
    4. Complete the form and upload any photos you have of the item for sale.
    5. Select 'Submit' and your item will be posted.
    
    
    
16. How many photos can I upload onto my profile?
    There is no limit to the amount of photos you can upload onto your profile.
    
    
17. Can I upload pictures that are not of my own work?
    No. It is against our policies to upload pictures of other people's work. It is also illegal to upload pictures that are copyrighted by someone else. Doing so may result in the filing of a law suit against you from the owner of the copyright and an additional law suit from BarberBeautician.com for breach of contract.
    
    
18. If I am a barber, hair stylist, manicurist/pedicurist, or make-up artist, what is the advantage of becoming a member of BarberBeautician.com?
    BarberBeautician.com enables individual personal appearance professionals to advertise themselves and open their own barbershops and salons. 19. How can I change the size of my photos so they will upload and rotate faster?
    You can resize your photos by using a picture editing program such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Most computers come equipped with this software. Here are steps for resizing photos using Microsoft Office Picture Manager (These steps may vary depending on your version of Microsoft Office):
    1. Place cursor over the picture file you want to resize.
    2. Right click and select 'Open With'.
    3. Select 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager'.
    4. Select 'Edit Pictures'.
    5. Select 'Resize'.
    6. Choose your preferred size and save the file.
    Note: Acceptable sizes are between 200 x 200 and 600 x 600 pixels.
    
    
20. My photos rotate slowly. How can I make them rotate faster?
    Resize your photos using the steps in the section above titled How can I change the size of my photos so they will upload and rotate faster.
    
    
21. Why does it take a long time to upload photos?
    Your photos may take longer to upload if you are using a slow internet connection or if your photos are above the maximum size of 600 x 600 pixels. Resize your photos using the steps in the section titled How can I change the size of my photos so they will upload and rotate faster.
    
    
22. Why are my photos appearing blurry?
    The minimum size your photos can be to prevent blurriness is 200 x 200 pixels. The maximum size is 600 x 600 pixels. Make sure the sizes of your photos are between 200 x 200 pixels and 600 x 600 pixels to prevent blurriness.
